Pallet boxes
Base, sleeve and lid constructions in standard UK, Euro and bespoke pallet footprints. Opening fronts, access cut-outs and internal fittings where the packing process needs them.
FEFCO 0306Pallet boxes, octabins, triple wall cases and oversized constructions for products that are too heavy, too large or too valuable for standard corrugated. Specified by RightBox, supplied through the partner manufacturing sites equipped for this work.
Six constructions account for most heavy-duty requirements. The right one depends on the product, the handling equipment and how the load is stored.

FEFCO 0306Eight-sided bulk containers for free-flowing and loose products, stable under load and quick to fill on line.
Discuss octabinsConstructions built for repeat trips between sites, where packaging does more than one journey.
Discuss returnablesHeavy, dense or high-value products travelling long distances, where single and double wall will not hold the load.
FEFCO 0203Open-fronted bins for picking operations, production lines and parts storage.
Discuss pick binsOversized products that fall outside standard case sizes, including bulky and awkward shapes.
FEFCO 0201Heavy-duty packaging fails in predictable ways. These are the factors that decide whether it holds.
What the box carries, and whether the product itself takes any of the stacking load.
How high loads are stacked, how long they sit, and whether storage is humid or chilled. Board loses compression strength as it absorbs moisture.
Forklift, pallet truck or manual handling, and whether the pack needs access openings for picking.
UK, Euro or a bespoke base, and how the pack fits the vehicle it travels in.
Single trip, export, or repeated journeys between sites, which points towards returnable constructions.
Heavy-duty board is usually printed in one or two colours. Full-colour retail print needs a different board and a different plant.
Two of our tools are built for exactly this: working out what fits a pallet, and checking the board grade will carry it.
Triple wall is three layers of fluting between four liners. It is used where double wall will not carry the load: heavy or dense products, tall stacks, long export journeys, or anything where the box takes the weight rather than the product. The Box Finder will give an indicative grade, and we confirm it against your actual load.
Pallet boxes are built around the pallet footprint, most commonly UK or Euro, with bespoke bases where the product needs one. Maximum size depends on the board grade and the plant making it, so we confirm it per specification rather than quoting a universal limit.
Yes, typically in one or two colours for handling marks, part numbers, branding and compliance information. Full-colour photographic print needs a different board and a different manufacturing route, which we would place elsewhere in the network.
Yes. Where packaging makes repeat journeys between sites, constructions can be designed for multiple trips, which changes the economics considerably on closed-loop routes.
No. RightBox specifies and manages the supply, then places each requirement with the partner manufacturing site equipped for it. You deal with RightBox throughout.
Send us the product, the weight, how it is stacked and where it travels. We will confirm the construction and board grade, and supply it through the partner site best equipped for it.
